The Voice of CCNU On the afternoon of November 13, in order to offer more company to the disabled living in the Sunshine Home and help them face their lives better, a live-stream with “Handwork Lesson: Paper Folding” as the theme was held by three volunteers from School of Psychology of CCNU.
The live-stream started at 3:00 in the afternoon. The speaker Pan Xinle presented some finished boats, hearts and paper cranes after a brief self-introduction, which aroused students’ strong interests.
The lesson began with the teaching of folding boats. Students took out the paper prepared in advance and folded it step by step according to the instructions given by Pan Xinle. Some students were able to finish very quickly, while others still had some difficulty. When noticing that some students still didn't know how to fold a boat, Pan Xinle explained it with patience. Finally, all students shared their works in the group. Moved by students' serious attitude, Pan Xinle continued to teach them how to fold hearts. With the joint efforts of Pan Xinle and the students, they learned two different ways of folding paper hearts. At the end of the live-stream, Pan Xinle concluded with a short video, which raised the enthusiasm of students again.

In the end, Pan Xinle made a simple conclusion. Students responded in the form of bullet-screen comments, and the screen was filled with red flowers and roses sent by them.
When asked their thoughts about this activity, volunteer Zhu Limei took it as a meaningful activity. They not only demonstrated their favorite paper folding and brought happiness and encouragement to the students, but also enriched their own knowledge and enhanced some extracurricular skills. Finally, the volunteers expressed their hope that in the coming days, everyone could face life in a better mood. They also hoped that they could have the opportunity to go to the Sunshine Home in the near future to give more companionship to these people with physical disabilities.
