This year is the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Aimed at further disseminating the knowledge of the history of the party, improving the spirit cultivation of party members, and exploring the formation of micro party lectures on the history of the party with the character of five-in-one education: “studying the history of the party, reading literary compositions, explaining political theories, understanding ideology, and cultivating spirits of party members”, the micro party lecture entitled "Poetry and the History of the Party", as a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the party, was carried out smoothly in the Model United Nations Conference Room on the afternoon of April 15. The activity was broadcast live by “Yangtze cloud” platform. The School of Politics and International Studies and Hubei Broadcast TV Newspaper jointly organized the activity. Qin Heng, deputy party secretary of the school host the activity, and Duan Wei, party secretary of the school and president of China Poetic Academy, Hu Zongshan, dean of the school, Rao Xun, editor-in-chief of the Hubei Broadcast TV Newspaper, and representatives of party members of each grade attended this activity.

This micro party lecture explained the poem Patio Spring · Snow. At the beginning of the event, Feng Yue, broadcast director of Hubei Broadcast TV Newspaper, recited and Yuan Ling, editor of the program, danced. The poem brought the audience into the magnificent and artistic concept created by the author. By introducing the differences between the graceful and restrained school and the bold and unconstrained school as well as the differences between chanting and singing, Duan Wei introduced the writing characteristics of each poetic school in a simple way. He said that compared with the ancients' heroic Ci works, Patio Spring · Snow was no longer the thought of loyalty to the monarch under the feudal system, but the revolutionary heroism and optimism from the perspective of the whole nation and mankind. Later, Duan Wei appreciated the poem word by word. He expressed that Patio Spring · Snow was a rare masterpiece with clear division, clear rules, crisscrossing and matching, and precise wording.

From the perspective of the history of the party, Hu Zongshan introduced the creation background and the grand occasion when Patio Spring · Snow was released, analyzing the author's thoughts, feelings and images. He stressed that Chairman Mao was a national hero and a great statesman who ended the rule of the Kuomintang reactionaries, overthrew the Three Great Mountains and established the socialist republic. Additionally, he was a great military strategist, crossing Chishui River for four times and three battles all reflected his incomparable military talent. He was also a great poet, the poem Patio Spring · Snow embodied the author's romantic feelings and proletarian views of history.

In the interactive segment, the guest answered the questions raised by the audience one by one. Citing Mao's words, Duan Wei said that in this poem, Chairman Mao did not deliberately disparage the heroes of the ancient time, but expressed his lofty ambitions through the artistic expressions. In view of all kinds of perplexities in college life, Qin Heng inspired students to have the spirit of "just look at the present" in this poem. Citing the content of the poem, Hu said that Party members should learn the spirits of dedication and optimism in the poem in daily life, temper the party spirits and improve the ideological and political consciousness.

It is understood that this micro party lecture has accumulated 350,000 hits during the live broadcast and has received great response.
