The year 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Looking back on the salient century, countless revolutionary martyrs worked hard for the rise of China and the great cause of the CPC, regardless of their personal sacrifices. The young leader Yun Daiying, as a famous and outstanding alumnus of CCNU, an eminent leader of the Chinese youth movement, and one of the important early leaders of the Communist Party of China, has long become an iconic and glorious presence in the hearts of CCNUers. "If you remember me, I am still alive." The best way to reminisce the revolutionary martyrs is to study history and take note of them who once lived like the blaze in history.
In order to deepen CCNUers' understanding and learning of revolutionary resources on campus, two members of the Know-Act-Garden volunteer service team came to Classroom 1101, the site for the evening roll call of undergraduates of Class 2020 of School of Political Communication, on the evening of April 11, to conduct a lecture on the theme of "Introduction of revolutionary resources in CCNU".

On the evening of April 11, team members arrived at Classroom 1101 to make presentation on the topic. The lecture focused on the life and thoughts of Yun Daiying, an alumnus of CCNU. The speaker, Shi Xiangyi, told the revolutionary story of Yun Daiying from three perspectives in turn: his growth process, educational thoughts and theories, and the Liqun Book Club.
Shi Xiangyi opened by briefly introducing Yun Daiying's main biographical experiences. In 1917, he founded the Mutual Aid Club, a progressive association at the private Wuchang Zhonghua University. In 1919, he founded the Liqun Book Club and successively founded such progressive publications as Mutual Aid, Wuhan Weekly Review, and Ours. He began studying and spreading Marxism in 1920, leading the establishment of the Coexistence Club in 1921, and was elected as a full member of the Central Committee of the Chinese Socialist Youth League and head of the Propaganda Department in 1923. He founded and edited China Youth, and later editing Red Flag, the central organ journal. In 1931, Yun Daiying sacrificed at the age of only 36.

Shi then elaborated on Yun's educational ideology based on the normal characteristics of CCNU. Yun's view of education was "to teach young people according to their abilities and to promote their all-round development",and he emphasized patriotism education, believing that education should attach great importance to practice and cultivate talents for society. He also suggested that students should learn a wide range of knowledge and become erudite.
At the end of the lecture, Shi concisely explained the process and impact of Yun's establishment of the Liqun Book Club. In 1919, Yun Daiying founded it after consulting with his friends from the Mutual Aid Club and devoted himself to introducing new ideas, new culture, and spreading Marxism through the book club. Now, the renovated Liqun Book Club is located on the first floor of the Library of CCNU. Although its decoration style has become younger with the times, the deep historical heritage behind it has never changed, and the red spirit it carries will always be remembered and inherited by the students of CCNU.

"School of Political Communication is the standing red flag on Guizi Hill." As young students of School of Political Communication, we actively respond to the call of the CPC Central Committee to study the history of the CPC, and it is duty-bound to promote the red culture on campus. The Know- Act-Garden volunteer team has been adhering to the original intention of fostering "academic volunteers" and actively guiding team members to focus on actuality, engage in practice and explore academic issues. Taking the rich and valuable red cultural resources on campus as the starting point, the team members spread the red culture of CCNU and inherit the revolutionary spirit of martyrs through lecturing, and devote themselves to building the spirit of patriotism, love of the Party and of the university among CCNUers, enhancing their sense of pride and belonging to the campus culture, and further strengthening the influence of the red culture on campus.
