The Voice of CCNU On May 2nd, the founding meeting of the alumni association of the School of Economics and Business Administration of CCNU and also of the financial alumni association of the university was officially held in Youming Gymnasium. The main aim of this activity was to enhance the sense of belonging and cohesion of the majority of students to the university and the school, to better work together with the students for common development, and to better pass on the spirit of CCNU and the tradition of the School of Economics and Business Administration from generation to generation.
In order to ensure the smooth development of the activity, Youth Volunteers Association of the School of Economics and Business Administration recruited a large number of volunteers in advance, divided the volunteers into the campus guidance group, alumni reception group, teacher service group and mobile group, and organized pre-conference training activities. On April 30th, a group of volunteers received their first training activity in classroom 10127 of Nanhu complex building, so that the volunteers could be familiar with the activity process, group arrangement and some attention points. After that, according to the assignment, the volunteers contacted the alumni, checked their information and sent warm reminders. On May 1st, all the volunteers participated in the preparatory work of the alumni association, helping to set up the scene, sorting out the props needed for the activity, and further understanding the entire process of the alumni association during the rehearsal. The volunteers were conscientious and responsible in the drill, sparing no efforts to be perfect, putting every detail into place and making full preparations for the formal activity.
After 8:00 a.m. on May 2nd, Youming Gymnasium welcomed alumni from all over the country. Volunteers warmly welcomed the alumni, guided them to sign on the signature wall and followed them all the way into the venue. After the activity officially started, the volunteers still needed to keep a high concentration and be ready to serve at any time. The alumni association had 16 items in total. In the process of the event, each volunteer played his or her own role and made an indispensable contribution to his or her position. They were always modest and courteous, trying their best to meet the reasonable requirements of the alumni and making the service work thorough and meticulous.
After the symposium, the volunteers accompanied the alumni to return to Guiyuan Hotel for a rest and dinner, and then the work of the volunteers came to an end. When asked about the impressions of the activity, one volunteer said,” This is the first time I have participated in such a large-scale event, so I am nervous and excited. Even though everything went well during the drill, when it came time for the formal activity to begin, I still felt a palpable sense of panic. However, generally speaking, I think I gained a lot through the voluntary work. Therefore, I hope to have more opportunities to take part in large-scale voluntary activities in the future.”
At 6:00 p.m., the activity came to an end successfully. Volunteers paved the way for the friendship among the alumni with sincerity and enthusiasm, and escorted the establishment of the alumni association of the school with patience and preciseness. Their behavior showed the responsibility and the brave to take on burden of the new generation of volunteers. Through this activity, they will carry forward the volunteer spirits of “dedication, friendship, mutual-aid and progress” again, and help inherit the spirit of great love of CCNU.
