From 11 to 12 October, accompanied by principles of the undergraduate program, Mathematical and Statistical Institute and Academy of Life Science, the vice-principal, Peng Shuangjie, went to Xiangyang, Hubei to visit the trainees who are senior students now.
The vice-principal, Peng Shuangjie, arrived at Xiangyang NO.4 and NO.5 Middle School successively and had a symposium with the 29 trainees. During the conference, he listened to their speeches carefully and learned about their working, studying and living situations. Afterwards, he encouraged them to manage to accomplish four things: use brain to think and observe more; use mouth to do well in teaching and moral education; use hands to enhance the hands-on practical ability and capacity; use feet to go into classes as well as dormitories and give more service. What was more, he emphasized that normal university should develop modern education which ought to focus on training teachers who possess these four referred qualities. The interns illustrated that they would attach great importance to the chance and devoted themselves into educational enterprise, studying diligently and training hard to gain practical teaching skills. As a base which is connected with Mathematical and Statistical Institute, Xiangyang NO.4 and NO.5 Middle School recruit the trainees from our school and give them detailed guidance for a long term.
The school leaders of Xiangyang NO.4 and NO.5 Middle School attended the meeting, introduced their working and living arrangements which were made for the trainees then affirmed the trainees' performance during their work. Moreover, they offered suggestions and requests on the tasks of next phase of the internship. They also conveyed their desire for the trainees to transform their knowledge into practical ability in order to be not only all-round but also learned middle school teachers. The vice-principal, Peng Shuangjie appreciated the warm life and meticulous instructions provided by the practice schools. Furthermore,he pointed out that they should strengthen the connection between our school and real classes, in the meantime, deepen cooperation on the innovation of education, practical training and other ways with primary as well as secondary schools.
It is reported that the autumnal practice in 2021 started in early September and ended in mid to late November. More than two thousand normal university students gave classes and did management work as headteachers at practice bases all over the country.
