(Correspondent Yin Xiaohan) On July 28th, the 12-day summer educational support activities launched by the “Building Dreams in the Countryside” summer camp teaching elementary school group of 2022 (hereinafter referred to as the “ChenXing teaching support team”) of ChenXing Public Welfare Association of CCNU at Yanhe Primary School approached its ending. The cultural performance and closing ceremony were held on the playground of Yanhe Primary School. Huang Zhixiang, the principal of Yanhe Primary School, and all the students of the summer camp and all the members of the ChenXing teaching support team participated in the ceremony. The closing ceremony was hosted by the team leader Jiang Xulei.

There were fifteen programs in total in this cultural performance, including singing songs, dance performances, poetry recitations, musical instrument solos and so on. From the first day of the camp, members of the teaching support team started to collect performances and prepare for them, and they also set the third class in the afternoon as a special rehearsal class for them.

The opening program of the cultural performance was a poetry recitation “Chinese Youth” performed by several fifth and sixth grade students. “Young people are like the early spring, like the sunrise, like the sprouting of hundred flowers, like the new appearance of a sharp blade, born in China, raised in China, determining to become the hope of the country, the pillar of the country". The fifth and sixth grade students expressed their love for the motherland with their tender voice. In order to cultivate students' quality of perseverance, bravery and tenacity, volunteers instructed them to practice military sports boxing. On the night of the performance, all the boys of the fourth grade presented the military sports boxing performance, including marching, turning and waving their fists. The moves were concise and the rhythms were clear, which won the acclamation of the audience.

After that, all the girls of the fourth grade performed the song “Xuan Cao Hua”, which conveyed the heart of a caring mother and the attached love among her children. The performance of “Dong Gan Lan Qiu” jointly brought by the fifth and sixth grade students, with smooth movements and clear rhythm, pushed the atmosphere of the party to a climax. “Ai Ni”, “Da Meng Xiang Jia”, “Feng Chui Mai Lang”, “Cuo Wei Shi Kong”, “Ban Sheng Xue”, “Gan En De Xin” and other songs and dances appeared in the public one by one, and the audience's applause and cheers rang out from time to time.
The stars symbolize hope and light, and also symbolize dreams. The last program of the performance was the chorus “Yang Wang Xing Kong”, which was brought by all the members of the Chen Xing teaching support team. During the performance, the team members turned on their flashlights and waved along with the song, while the students off the stage also stood up and waved together. The lyrics of “Yang Wang Xing Kong” contained the team's blessing to the students, hoping that every child could carry their own dream and become the brightest star in the sky.

Words may be fleeting, but memories can be kept alive through audios and videos. After all the performances, a video summarizing the summer camp was shown on the screen. The video showed the classroom clips of the students during the camp, sitting and listening, raising their hands to speak, doing experiments in groups, or practicing calligraphy under the guidance of the teacher. At the end of the video, the members of the teaching team sent an ardent message to the students. After playing the video, the cultural performance came to the end.
During the teaching period, the volunteers offered various quality courses for the students, such as Decoding Chinese Culture, Wonderful Science, Fun English, Soft Pen Calligraphy and so on. At the same time, in pursuit of enriching the summer life of the students, the teaching support team also organized various activities such as railroad safety lectures, knowledge competitions, reading sharing sessions, fun games and outdoor swimming. With the end of the cultural performance and camp closing ceremony, this mission trip came to an end. There is always an ending to a story, but the memories will not dissipate, treasuring the beauty and looking forward to the next encounter.
