Evaluation and Presentation Defense Meeting of the First Demonstration and Standard Secondary Mental Health Education Workstations Was Successfully Held

In order to further improve the effectiveness of mental health education for students in our school, strengthen the standardization, institutionalization, normalization, scientization and professionalization of construction of the secondary mental health education workstations in our school, in the meantime, promote the experience exchangement and learning of each workstation, on the morning of June 30, the evaluation and presentation defense meeting of the first demonstration and standard secondary mental health education workstations were held in the conference room on the 2nd floor of the administration building.


A total of 18 units, such as the School of Psychology, the School of Chemistry, the School of Information Management and so on, actively applied and participated in the presentation defense meeting. Seven experts inside and outside the school were invited to serve as the evaluation of the defense session. They are: the director of Mental Health Education Center of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Zhang Jinyuan, the director of College Students' Mental Health Education Center of Wuhan University, Zhang Xingbo, the deputy director of the College Students' Psychological Health Education Center of Wuhan University of Technology, Liang Yusong, the deputy director of Mental Health Consultation Center of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Yang Ziyun, the associate professor of the Mental Health Consultation Center of Central China Agricultural College, Cui Fenghua and the minister of Student Work Department of Party Committee Li Diao, vice director of University Student Mental Health Center Wu Mingli in our school. The evaluation and presentation defense meeting was chaired by the deputy director of Student Work Department of Party Committee as well as the director of college students mental health education center, Wu Jiancheng. Part of the station masters, deputy secretaries, faculty advisers and full-time teachers of mental health education center attended the meeting.



First of all, Wu Jiancheng, the deputy director of Student Affairs Department and director of Mental Health Center delivered a speech: Our school officially started the construction of secondary mental health education workstations in 2020. Through two years' hard construction, 27 secondary psychological workstations have been fully built, which realized the full coverage of secondary psychological workstations of teaching and scientific research units. It has initially formed a good atmosphere of "school adhered to overall planning, departments coordinated and cooperated with each other, the school (department) led implementation , the grassroots level brought forth new ideas independently, and teachers and students participated in actively ", which has achieved certain practical results.



Next, the reporters of the secondary psychological workstation in 18 units presented as well as reported the construction of psychological workstation in each unit, the work effect and the future construction plan and prospect in order of drawing lots. By carefully reviewing the application materials, listening to the presentation and answering questions, the experts independently scored and finally jointly selected 10 shortlisted units for field investigation.





Zhang Jinyuan, director of the Mental Health Center of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, read out the 10 advanced units and made wonderful comments on the presentation defense. He highly affirmed and evaluated the construction of the secondary mental health education workstations in our school, and praised that the workstation has formed a large pattern of letting everyone participate in education, which had sound mechanism, complete system, diverse forms, distinctive characteristics, strong guarantee and resultant force.



At the same time, Zhang Jinyuan also shared his experience of participating in the presentation and defense meeting and put forward expectations for the future work. First, he expected all workstations to further think about the goals of mental health education, including the improvement of mental health literacy and the promotion of mental health. Second, the psychological workstation was expected to jump out of the psychological thinking to look at and engage in psychological work, give full play to the role of students' peers, train students to have a correct attitude toward life, establish a clear goal in the university stage and find the path to achieve their goals.


Finally, the expert review group conducted a field visit to the 10 shortlisted units in groups and made a comprehensive evaluation according to the presentation defense and situation of field visit. Ultimately, they selected three mental health education demonstration workstation (College of Life Science's "Tree Hole Psychological Workstation of College of Life Science ", College of Urban and Environmental Sciences' Sunny Heart Courier Station, College of Physical Science and Technology's Gardenia Studio) and five standard mental health education workstations (School of Fine Arts' "' Satisfying Hearts' Mental Health Education Workstation", School of Mathematics and Statistics' "The College Is Doing Psychological Work Workshop, "Light seeking Psychology Studio" of the School of Foreign Languages, "Heart Voyage · Mental Health Education Workstation" of the School of History and Culture, and "Red Pomegranate Mind Station" of the School of Chemistry).
