In order to further study and implement the important speeches and instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the study of the history of the CPC, the history of the country, the history of reform and opening-up, and the history of socialist development, deepen patriotism education and school aesthetic education continually, refine the practice education system, guide the Party members and teachers and students to draw wisdom, courage and strength from the study of the "four histories", know history and love the Party, to know history and love the country, combine the strengths and specialties of the School of Music, according to the spirit of the University's Notice on the in-depth study and education of the history of the CPC, the history of the country, the history of reform and opening-up, and the history of socialist development the Party Committee of School of Music decided to carry out the activity of "Singing 100 Red Songs to welcome The 100th Anniversary of the Founding of The Communist Party of China" among all the teachers and students of the school.

In October 2020, according to the spirit of the relevant documents of the school, combining the actual situation of the college, through the study and approval of the party-government meeting of the college, this activity was formally launched and a leading group was set up, with the secretary and the dean as the leader, other deputies as assistant leaders, and all members of the party committee and the secretaries of branches and faculty(department, office) directors as members. The activities were included in the key work of 2021, and in the budget of the College, and would be strongly supported. The group will formulate a scheme for the activity and report to the school leadership and relevant functional divisions for guidance and assistance while publicizing and mobilizing to all teachers and students.
In November 2020, the college set up a professional guiding group headed by the deputy dean in charge of art practice, with the directors of faculties(departments) and experts and professors of relevant majors as members, to select one hundred classic red songs that could be sung, with works reflecting the era to cover the whole 100 years from the founding of the Communist Party of China to the present, and the theme must be positive, eulogizing the Communist Party of China, new China, reform and opening-up, and great practice of socialist construction.
By mid-December 2020, a reasonable division of instructors and students for each song will be posted according to the professional requirements. The instructional teachers will negotiate with the students about the time when they would instruct the students to learn the song. We aim to basically teach them during the semester, and students can complete their works with high quality.
In March 2021, several internal auditions will be organized in different stages, taking the practice of the Communist Party of China leading the Chinese revolution and socialist construction as a clue, to select the best players and continue to cultivate them for promotion. Each song will be videotaped for each contestant during the audition, and the video will be shown outside the concert hall to all students and teachers to expand the range of singing. We can cooperate with the radio station on the audio, one song per day from the countdown of 100 days before The Party’s Day on July 1st.
Around May 4th, 2021, a special theme exhibition will be held at Fountain Square, mainly in the form of pictures and articles. One song for one exhibition board, focusing on the excavation of history and learning it, especially the background and theme of the times reflected in the songs, supplementing with singing audio and video to expand the appeal and influence. Pictures and articles version at the same time will be compiled into a book.
In May-June 2021, on the basis of the preliminary selection, the professional guiding group will continue to enrich the expression of the program, expand the solo singing to duo singing, multi-singing and chorus, accompanied by piano, dance or other musical instruments, etc. and carefully organize the rehearsal of individual program and the whole programs, and preview the performance. Meanwhile, the college makes good preparations accordingly. It is planned that the theme music party will be officially held in mid-June, one week before the graduates leave school and other students' final exams, and live stream simultaneously.
To ceremoniously celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, enthusiastically eulogize party, eulogize motherland, eulogize people, eulogize heroes, Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee recently organized experts to select 100 outstanding songs. The catalog is now published for the masses of cadres, crowds, music workers and enthusiasts to appreciate, learn and sing. These works, have a common theme, that is—enthusiastically eulogize party, eulogize motherland, eulogize people, eulogize heroes. These works, which span the periods before and after the founding of New China, have a profound historical imprint. These works are all classical masterpieces that are widely sung.
