In order to celebrate centennial of the founding of the party and eulogize the beautiful motherland, the department of rights protection and service of the school of the foreign languages held a cold food platter competition themed on the“ a picture of China ,a gift for the party “on the afternoon of the May 15th. The competition site was at Guixiangyuan dining hall. The distinguished guest attending this event were Zhou Yuanqiang, manager of the canteen, Zhu Shuhang, Cheng Dezhi, staff of the canteen, and Luo Zhijin, the first floor of Guixiangyuan’s vice president of the people's Management Association. The host of the event was Gao Zilin, the host team of CCNU.
At the beginning of the event, Gao Zilin introduced the guests who were invited and invited a member of each group to participate in the warm-up game "hang out in the orchard". The players stood according to the group number and answered the questions raised by the host in turn. If they repeated the previous answers or took the time too long, they would be eliminated. With Gao Zilin saying "what's in Guixiang yuan", the game officially started. A few rounds later, the fifth group player Li Wenxin won and took the lead to win three points for her group. Then, the vies to answer first link began. The host threw out the creative questions such as "names of eight major Chinese cuisines" and "poems containing food". Representatives of each group raised their hands to answer questions, competing to win the chance to take the lead for the group.

In the enthusiastic applause, Zhou Yuanqiang made a speech. He said that, this event strengthened the contacts between students and dining hall as well as celebrating the centennial of the founding of the party. It also welcomed the students to come up with valuable suggestions about the dining hall at any moment. In the end, he congratulated beforehand on this event on behalf of the staffs in the dining hall. Then, the host made a brief introduction based on the main points of the scoring and the main theme of the activity. The judges of this competition would score the scores in four aspects, namely, highlighting the theme, modeling features, color and food. The final score was the sum of scores obtained by each group and the scores of previous rounds. With the start of the half hour countdown by staff, the competition officially started.

There were 20 groups of contestants participating in this competition, and the materials for participation needed to be provided by themselves. The scene atmosphere was active and the competition was at a hectic pace. Most of the groups were well prepared in the earlier stage and used unique food materials. For example, the group 12 used onion skins as sails to highlight the red boat spirit with the theme of "red boat spirit never dies". The third group used half a cantaloupe as the base, and citrus and green grapes were used as decorations, implied the meaning of big orange (Ji) and big green (LI). The fifth group showed the works through the comparison from ancient times to the present, including the red boat of the past and the space base and high-rise buildings of the present. Some groups had profound meanings and presented various works to celebrate the centennial of the party. For example, the group 14’s work was presented in the form of a birthday cake. The materials used were abundant and colorful, symbolizing the beauty and richness of the motherland. The group 18 used the watermelon to build up a Tiananmen Square to symbolize the prosperous China. The Yellow mango was compared to the golden wheat field, and the green cucumber was compared to the green hills and clear waters, which implied the glorious flowers in spring and solid fruits in autumn.
As time limited, the competition was over. After the judges scored and the contestants evaluated each other, the 14th group successfully won the first prize. When asked about the feeling of winning the prize, Zhou Yayun, the representative of the 14th group, said that, why they could win this award was because that they had all pooled their wisdom. Each member had done what he was best at, including preliminary planning and material procurement, and everyone had done very well. Wang Wenjing, the representative of the ninth group who won the third prize, said that this activity not only made them happy to eat fruit, but also made them review how our party had gone through this magnificent 100 years. So she thought this activity was very meaningful.
