On the evening of May 28th, the second session of the 12th Excellent Graduates Sharing Meeting of the School of Foreign Languages was held in Room 3218. The aims of this activity were to share the experience of outstanding graduates and provide undergraduates with feasible suggestions and guidance on their career planning. Qiu Ling, secretary of the Youth League Committee of the School of Foreign Languages and counselor of the English Department of the Grade of 2019, attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the event, the guests was introduced by the host. First of all, Tian Xinyu from the Department of Translation and Interpreting shared her experiences. She divided her college life into two parts: the first three years of accumulation and the last year of sprint. Among them, she elaborated her rich experience during the internship and in the innovation and entrepreneurship team from the aspects of professional learning, student work, volunteer activities, internship experiences, innovation and entrepreneurship, etc. Additionally, she analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of various choices from the aspects of postgraduate recommendation, postgraduate entrance examination, overseas study and employment. In the end, she concluded with “Do not ask the way, seize the day”, hoping that students would actively have a try and always broaden their horizons.

The next speaker was Xu Shuya from the Korean Department. She divided her speech into three parts: learn, research and practice. First, she encouraged the undergraduates to take action and told them, "The starting point for the future is now." From the perspectives of foreign language skills, scientific research and innovation, innovation and entrepreneurship, academic forum and student work, she focused on her field visit to the China-Korea Museum and finally participated in the scientific research project as the main person in charge. She also encouraged students to be willing to challenge themselves and accumulate skills.

Fang Guanqi of the Russian Department shared the relevant experience of postgraduate entrance examination. She stressed that your choice was very important. From how to choose the place, college, major and research direction, she systematically explained why students should choose carefully and how they should choose. Finally, she said that learning planning and self-regulation were of great significance, and the quality of attitude was also an important factor for the success of the postgraduate entrance examination.

Next, Pang Qianqian, an excellent graduate from the English Department, introduced her experiences in preparing for postgraduate recommendation. She described a series of practical experiences from the summer camp to the pre-exemption. In addition, she also analyzed the policies about the postgraduate recommendation of China Foreign Affairs University, Sun Yat-sen University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Xiamen University, Beijing Normal University, Nankai University and other universities from various aspects, which deepened the students' cognition and understanding of postgraduate recommendation and drew applause from the audience.

The last guest was Xu Tianqi from the French Department, sharing her experience in postgraduate entrance examination. Starting with her personal situation, she gave a complete introduction to the whole procedure of the exam. She believed that it was important to collect information and choose the university before the exam. She also suggested that students should grasp the pace of revision, choose subjects carefully and keep a good attitude.

The second session of the 12th Excellent Graduates Sharing Meeting of the School of Foreign Languages ended in the applause of the students. All the outstanding students of the school passed on their successful experience in a positive manner, answered the questions of students patiently and carefully, explaining the culture and warmth of Mount Guizi.
