On the morning of July 15, the Mingde Social Practice Team from School of Mathematics and Statistics arrived at Longyanquan Middle School in Jingmen Hubei for assisted teaching activity, which means the team members would paticipated in the classes of the school with their instructors. This activity aimed to enhance the teaching ability of the participants, instruct them how to put theories into practice, furthermore, learn teaching skills through real school lessons.
After the talk with the instructors, our students joined in the classes, in order to study the method of explaining the questions, cultivate their qualities to be a teacher and accumulate for the future. After class, the participants give assistance in correcting the homework and analyzing the mistakes of students, which would help improving efficiency. Beside, the team members also explained the exercises under the instruction of teachers, for reinforcing their capabilities.

In this part, Long Jiaqi started with 2 question in Gaokao, then she explored the fundamental idea behind the problem of symmetrical functions: one is making points into lines and another is specialization. Through this activity, she guided the students to draw inference on the basis of the examples, simultaneously, helped them in making deeper understanding of maths. When it came to her feedback, she told us: “This event is actually not only a challenge for me, but also a kind of practice as well as self-improvement. It reinforced my abilities of class preparation, teaching and communication.”

During the evening self-studying time, the participants made an attempt to manage the classes with teachers, by answering the questions of the students. They mainly concentrated on the assignments, at the same time, the approach of learning maths wasn’t ignored, which has revealed their board knowledge base and the devotion of assistance. Except that, the members began with the based knowledge, in order to help the students summarizing the key points of the lessons, afterwards, they shared some classic exercises that were supposed to be complicated and error-prone after arrangement and classification. And this was also the end of the whole activity.

As college students, we ought to gain knowledge from classes as well as the social practice. Through this activity, the participants not only advanced their teaching ability, but also strengthened their sense of love, persistence and determination, which meant the unity of knowledge and practice. In the meantime, it demonstrated the implementation of the “education in 5 aspects”idea, which will inspire our students to put theories into practice, make self-improvement and contribute ourselves to the construction of education.
