On July 12, the Qheng Cheng Practice Team of the School of Public Administration of CCNU carried out a summer social survey activity in Dongting Community, Guoguohu Street, Wuchang District. As the first commercial district in Wuhan, Dongting Community has obtained many achievements in various fields of work over the years. It has won more than 200 honorary titles such as "National Advanced Grassroots Party Organization". It has been praised by many national leaders such as Wen Jiabao and Li Keqiang. The practice team has rooted in the grassroots of Dongting, experienced firsthand the grassroots governance model, and comprehended the centuries-old development context of the Communist Party of China and society in practice.
In the summer, the sun was shining and it was very hot outside. The practice team members put on the "Little Red Riding Hoods" and followed the members of Communist Party of China and community grid members to the grassroots level to carry out voluntary service activities. The renovation project of the old community of Dongting was in full swing. Faced with the abandoned construction waste and the accumulated life debris, everyone performed their duties and had a clear division of labor. They were not afraid of the hot heat and the dirt, and actively participated in it. The students inspected all corners of the community, picked up litter with their hands, and assisted members of Communist Party of China in transporting garbage with trolleys. After nearly two hours of hard work, everyone cleared and transported more than 5 tons of rubbish. The originally messy community environment was completely renewed, and the residents on the street clapped and praised it.
A member of Communist Party of China is a model. Let the power of members of Communist Party of China go deep into the grassroots communities, and let the bright red party flag fly high in the front line. With the help of the higher-level government, the Dongting community vigorously promoted the work of members of Communist Party of China, gave full play to the leading role of party building, and achieved active actions and hard work. After the volunteer service ended, a member from an agency directly under the central government had an in-depth discussion and exchanged with the members of the practice team. Focusing on the specific work of members of Communist Party of China in rooting in communities, he solemnly said that when fighting against the epidemic in 2020, the members of Communist Party of China commandos charged forward and fought on the front line. The people who lived in Dongting community was almost the elderly. Faced with many problems such as transferring confirmed patients, guaranteeing basic living supplies, and solving the elderly’s medical treatment and medication, the members of Communist Party of China stepped forward without hesitation and implemented the purpose of serving the people with practical actions. A solid "protective wall" was built to protect the health of the people. In the current normalization of epidemic prevention and control, government agencies and communities had coordinated arrangements for docking work, actively assisting the daily operations of the grassroots, giving full play to the vanguard and exemplary role of members of Communist Party of China, and injecting new momentum into community governance.
Sun Rui, a practice team member from the School of Public Administration in the Grade 2019, asked a question that during the Wuhan epidemic, whether the members of Communist Party of China afraid. Apart from their own work, they had to sink the community whether they were tired, which were worth thinking. The volunteers said sternlythat they were members of Communist Party of China and it was the duty and mission of them to overcome difficulties, stand out, and serve the masses.
The community has always insisted on deepening the leadership of party building, with serving residents as the core, continuously improving governance methods and enhancing the level of governance services. While following the members of Communist Party of China to experience the work, the sincere practice team of the School of Public Administration carefully observed, actively thought, and was diligent in asking questions. Combining their own professional characteristics and practical results, the practice team members had gained and recorded their experience. Under the pattern of co-construction, co-governance and sharing under the leadership of party building, we need to strengthen the party’s unified leadership, coordinate the organizational forces of all parties, keep close contact with the masses, and explore new systems, new models, and new operations for community governance.
