On the morning of 16 July, the award ceremony of the “Red Memory of Hongan”Micro Film Making Competition, which was taken by Chinese College Association for Visual Art, was held successfully. The work made by students from School of Information and Journalism, which named “Though Character Doesn’t Speak, the Root of Red Thrive Beneath”, gained the second prize.

As the event began, the host firstly expressed his think for the active participation of all the students, which received a burst of applause of the audiences in return. Then, the deputy president of SIJ (School of Information and Journalism) Peng Tao gave a speech. He started from the specialty of the Journalism profession, afterwards, emphasized the significance of the inside spirits. “Now, a kind of spirit is in needed for the guidance and construction of the development of this major, and the Red Character is definitely proper for our demand, which possesses the capability of permanent leading.”Finally, he hoped that this kind of activity would continue in a more systemic way, in the meantime, conveyed his anticipation for the self-improvement of the participants.

After the estimation of the judges, the winning works were exposed, then following with the award ceremony. The work “Though Character Doesn’t Speak, the Root of Red Thrive Beneath”by the team of Wang Qiuting obtained second prize, she and her partners received the certificates, also, made photos with the judges.

After this ceremony, all the participants took photos with their instructors in front of the statue of Dong Biwu.

This seven-day activity, with the no-spared effort of the students, has left them a fairly deep expression. One of the film producer Yu Qing told us: “It spent us 4 days for a complete sightseeing of Hongan. We recorded the perseverance in the characters of the People of Hongan, just as the footprints that have been left in the earth. We sought for the legend of this place, and simultaneously, carry the reminded spirit forward. Though we didn’t got the first place in this competition, what was the most important thing is every moments that I stayed with my team workers.”
Since then, the “Red Memory of Hongan”Micro Film Making Competition finished with a complete success, but there is still a long way to go for us to spread the Red Spirit. Thinks to all the participates as well as the instructors, let’s look forward to the next meeting.
