In order to help the new students understand the school and adapt to and integrate into college life faster, on the evening of September 15, a meeting for the new students of English Department and minor language majors of the School of Foreign Languages Class 2021 and Youth League Committee and Student’s Union Recruitment were held simultaneously in the lecture hall of Science and the 3218 classroom of Building 3. Wang Li, counselor of English Department of Class 2021, Xu Yuan, counselor of minor languages, members of all departments of the Youth League Committee and Student’s Union of the College and all freshmen of Class 2021 participated in this conference.
After the first evening roll call and class division, Ms. Wang Li and Ms. Xu Yuan firstly welcomed the new students, then explained in detail the activities of the orientation week and the start of the school year, guiding the new students to plan their personal time better, answering common questions and providing convenient access to information to promote the new students to adapt to the university life faster.

The counselors pointed out that during the transition period from a tight high school life to a freer college life, study autonomy and discipline are especially important, and how to maintain motivation and the pursuit of high goals without rigid requirements is a question that freshmen need to think about. On this basis, Ms. Wang Li and Ms. Xu Yuan emphasized the awareness of rules, independence and autonomy. At last, the counselors sent a message to the freshmen of the 2021 to practice the CCNU spirit of "loyalty, elegance, simplicity and perseverance" and wished every student a good college life.

After that, the heads of the departments of the Youth League Committee and Student’s Union of the College made a recruitment speech, and each head started the speech around the department settings and responsibilities, aiming to let the new students understand each department fully and suggested them to join them selectively to exercise their own abilities and enrich their campus life.

The person in charge of each department made a wonderful presentation in turn with PPT. The Organization Department, Youth Volunteer Association, Press Corps and Academic Department introduced their responsibilities, organization construction and work content in a lively way, and more prominently displayed the team spirit and warmth of their departments, and expressed their expectation for the young and enthusiastic freshmen to join and add a different color to them. The new students were also full of expectations for student work and chose the departments they were interested in to learn more about them.
