On the afternoon of February 28th, the "Spring Rain Blossoms, Vitality Revives" DIY crochet activity and February birthday celebration for Nanhu Building 2 community, organized by the School of Information Management’s e-Start Mental Health Education Center and co-hosted by Keming Ideological and Political Studio, was successfully held at the community activity center. Combining hands-on crafting with collective birthday festivities, the event injected vitality into the new semester and further strengthened community cohesion.

As participants arrived at the activity room, they were greeted by vibrant yarn bundles and neatly arranged crochet tools. A variety of tulips, succulent pots, and rose bouquets on display immediately captured everyone’s attention, sparking excitement and anticipation. After a brief introduction to the event by the host and a crochet tutorial video, the DIY session officially began.

Holding crochet hooks and yarn, participants focused intently on weaving scattered materials into delicate potted plants and floral arrangements. Soft background music intertwined with the rhythmic sound of hooks and yarn, creating a serene and cozy atmosphere. "Crocheting felt like entering a ‘flow state’—it really eased my stress," shared one participant. Throughout the activity, students exchanged techniques, shared creative inspirations, and filled the room with laughter.

The February birthday celebration soon followed. In the activity room, the group sang "Happy Birthday" to the celebrants. Though voices varied in pitch, every note carried heartfelt wishes for the birthday students’ academic success and all the best in their endeavors. Smiles and joyous moments were captured in photos as cameras clicked.

By blending DIY crochet with collective celebrations, the event not only provided students with a platform for stress relief and self-expression but also deepened their sense of community belonging. Moving forward, the School of Information Management will continue to explore diverse activity formats to enrich community cultural development and support students’ holistic growth.
