It was May 7th, the early summer time, when the green pine needles in the Guizi Mountain were touched by slight breeze and when we were surrounded by birds’ twittering as well as the scent of flowers, the opening ceremony of the 2nd Aesthetics Education Festival was held successfully at the Youming Studio. There were plenty of guests, including Xiao Anmin (the original sub-executive director of the Hubei National Development and Reform Commission, director of Educational, Scientific, Cultural, Sanitary and Physical Educational Committee of Hubei Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference) , Kong Qi (the 75th direct generation of Confucius, Dean of the Chinese Traditional Painting Research Institute), Pan Jian (Scholar of School of Life Science, deputy headmaster of the Second Shuiguohu Middle School), Chen Diming (deputy secretary of CPC of CCNU), Zhang Chuanbin (dean of the CCNU Yangzi River Calligraphy Research Institute), principal of other departments and student representatives.
At the beginning of this event, Chen Diming gave a speech which demonstrated the emphasis of aesthetics education in the CCNU and our recent achievements in this field. He pointed out: “More possibilities of participation, experience as well as inclusion will be explored during the festival on basis of the traditional part. It is a perfect opportunity for us to publish the aesthetic activities, art courses and aesthetics education, which would narrate humanistic spirit as well as aesthetic literacy in a better way. Besides, for this time, we have made an attempt to absorb the knowledge of the CPC in diverse activities, providing a more acceptable method in order to encourage our students to learn and think deeply.
Afterwards, Xiao Anmin described this event as a visual feast, since this activity was held within various forms in different angles. He supposed that, surrounding by strong aesthetic atmosphere, the advanced educated theories, capabilities as well as the levels of our school have been completely exposed during this festival.
In the next talk, Xiao Jian firstly praised the interns from School of Fine Arts, as they have proved themselves diligent, professional, and simultaneously, tough themselves in their teaching process, making all the works well accomplished.
Then, the representative from School of Fine Arts explained detailed arrangements of this activity, also, presented the prizes to the graduates who handed in outstanding graduation projects.
Kong Qi made an improvisation with the beautiful melodies of The Language of Pipa. With the brush flowed smoothly on the paper, for outline or rendering, lots of audiences were attracted by this part.
The theme of Aesthetics Education Festival for this year was divided into 3 sections Respect the Morality, Self-discipline and Find the Beauties. And theses sections contained 6 parts (Explore, Learn, Discuss, Practice, Research and Compete) as well as 39 projects, from advanced mind, art exhibitions to art experiences, professional discussion and social service, etc.
