In order to deeply study the contemporary socialism around the world and the new development of Foreign Communist Party and boost the compile work about the Yearbook of International Communist Movement, hereinafter referred to as the Yearbook, the working conference on the compilation of the Yearbook, hosted by the school of politics and international studies of CCNU, undertaken by the center for Marxist parties in foreign countries, was held in room 313 of the school of politics and international studies on April 17, 2021. The conference was presided over by Professor Yu Weihai, director of the center for Marxist parties in foreign countries Professor Shu Xin and associate professor Zhou Huaping from the research center, as well as members from the Central Research Institute of party history and literature, the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, Renmin University of China, Shanxi Normal University, Xinyang Normal University, Anhui Education Press, Luoyang Normal University, the Central China Normal University and other units, which totally more than 40 people attended this meeting.
First of all, Dr.Yi Xiaoming from the Central Research Institute of party history and literature delivered an academic report entitled "new trends in the development of the left parties in Syria". Focusing on the choices, Dr.Yi Xiaoming introduced the importance of path choice of a party for the development of political parties, and illustrated it with the examples of the left parties in Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria and other countries. Dr. Yi Xiaoming explained the problems faced by the left parties in Syria from the historical evolution, and talked about the basic characteristics, differences and consensus of the left parties in the Arab region. Then, Dr. Yi Xiaoming discussed the different characteristics of the left parties in Syria from the perspective of whether they support the regime or not, as well as their arguments about the nature of the Syrian civil war and the resulting splits, including the relations with the United States and Russia, how to end the civil war and so on. Finally, Dr. Yi Xiaoming summarized today's content and looked forward to the trend of strengthening unity of the left parties in Syria in the future .
The second and third items of the conference agenda was that after taking a group photo of all the participants, Professor Yu Weihai, director of the center for Marxist parties in foreign countries, presented letters of appointment to the participants.
The fourth item of the agenda of the conference was that a discussion presided by Professor Yu Weihai over the compilation requirements of the Yearbook, the remuneration of the editorial committee, team building and other problems as well as explained the overall preparation style and purpose of the Yearbook. From the stylistic rules and layout, the content should highlight the political and international activities of different levels according to the region from big to small. The purpose of compiling the Yearbook was to provide a rich tool book for the academic community to be consulted and used by later researchers. Professor Yu Weihai stressed that the writing process should be careful and appropriate, the content should be abundant and accurate, the writing principle should be "realistic and rich", and the readability, science and comprehensiveness of Yearbook should be improved. For team building, Professor Yu Weihai stressed that the compilation of each part and all levels should be clearly divided, so as to ensure the smooth progress of the compilation of Yearbook.
At the end of the meeting, Professor Yu Weihai expressed his heartfelt thanks to the participants, and hoped that everyone would take a serious part in the compilation work and promote the smooth publication of the Yearbook. So far, the conference on the compilation of the Yearbook of the international communist movement has come to a successful conclusion.
