On the evening of May 14th, the opening ceremony of the 18th “Life Cup” Volleyball League Tournament of CCNU was successfully held at the Youming Gymnasium. Li Hongfei, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of CCNU and vice President, Guo Qing, secretary of the party committee of the School of Physical Education, Wang Bin, dean of the School of Physical Education, Qiu Baosheng, dean of the School of Life Sciences, Ma Ni, secretary of the Youth League Committee of CCNU, Dai Wenbo, vice chairman of the labour union of CCNU, Li Diao, vice minister of the Ministry of Education and Works, Wang Kun, vice secretary of the Party Committee of CCNU, Xu Fen, vice secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Chemistry, liu Yang, vice secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Life Sciences, Zuo Yinan, Secretary of Youth League Committee of School of Public Administration, and other guests attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Guo Baoke, vice dean of the School of Physical Education.
At the beginning of the opening ceremony, a vigorous martial arts performance was performed by the members of the martial arts class of the School of Physical Education. It actively responded to the call of “getting off the Internet, walking out of the dormitory and heading for the playground”, which was beneficial to students to enhance their physical fitness and improve their personality, as well as interpreted the sports culture. Actually, the “Life Cup” tournament has been gradually engraved into the culture of the School of Life Sciences, leaving a mark with the characteristics of life. The wonderful performances quickly promoted the atmosphere. The dance “Blooming with Dreams” performed by the School of Life Sciences was lively and lovely. Dancers from each school showed a series of dances that attracted the audience, and the dance “YES OK!” pushed the scene atmosphere to the climax.
The first exhibition match officially began, and the male staff team of CCNU against the male volleyball team of CCNU. After the first game, the male staff team and the male volleyball team gradually returned to form after making a series of mistakes, and the male staff team won the victory of the first ball. However, members of the male volleyball team had excellent skills, hitting the ball powerfully when attacking, and swinging the opponent with fake movements. Finally, male volleyball team won the first game with the score of 25:21. In the second game, the male volleyball team was in poor condition and lost with the score of 19:25. In the third game male volleyball team successfully defended the honor of the school team and won the third round with the score of 15:13. In the end, the male volleyball team won the game with the score of 2:1.
Next came the second opening game, the female volleyball team of the School of Public Administration versus the female volleyball team of the School of Life Sciences. In the first game, the female volleyball team of the School of Life Sciences got off to a good start, and the first ball brushed the net, successfully winning a point. Then, two more points followed. After that, the female volleyball team of the School of Life Sciences easily won the game with the score of 25:12 because of the exquisite skills. In the following game, the female volleyball team of the School of Life Sciences was more and more confident and won the second game with the score of 25:12, winning the final victory with the score of 2:0.
Despite the pouring rain outside Youming Stadium, the atmosphere on the pitch was still hot. The two matches not only reflected the strength of both sides, but also highlight the competitive spirit of volleyball.
