The Student Congress for 2021 of School of History and Culture was held successfully in the 1201 classroom of the No.1 teaching building on June 22. The Secretary of Youth League Zhong Peiwen was present and this event was hosted by the chairman of the Student Union Zhan Tongtong. There was 61 representatives in total participated in this conference who were from varied unions and organizations of different grades, who, simultaneously, demonstrated the universality as well as the pioneering of this meeting, since they could convey the suggestions and the requirements of most of the students.
The congress started with the Solemn National Anthem, then Zhong Peiwen gave the opening speech. He firstly expressed his satisfaction and think to the hard-work of the student union, he said: “This event is not only a platform for the talent show of the students, but also an opportunity for sharing the experience and making summary for the last year, meanwhile, a chance was provided for exposing the needs, feeling as well as the confusion of the students.” He indicated that the Student Union should fully implement the reform program for the Student Union of the CCNU and contribute to assisting with the thriving of the student for great cultivation.
Eventually, he anticipated that the new shift members would persevere in the aim of the union as well as practice the mass line, strive forward, be responsible, practical and innovative.
After the vice chairman of the student union Bao Yazhi reading the preparation report of this meeting and the evaluation report of the representatives, both the deputy secretary of the Youth Committee Chen Qizhen and the vice chairman of the student union Xiang Yunfei made summery and demonstration for last year. Chen Qizhen introduced that the whole league managed to put theories in to practice, at the same time, enhance the ideological building of the students through diverse activities such as the League Day Events, Student Forums and the leadership training; encourage scientific creation, strengthen the cultivation of the students and carry forward the culture by the events, for instance, National Innovation Project and Youth Research Center; reinforce the sense of labor and explore more possibilities during some practice activities. Besides, Xiang Yunfei explained the construction of the student union, in the meantime, review the achievements of the past year. Furthermore, she hoped, the new shift of the leaders could continue as well as, resist on the excellent tradition then look ahead.
In the next competition part, each candidate gave their speeches one by one. The title of the one of Fang Xinmei is “Strive Ahead in the Youth”which revealed her advantages, simultaneously, her recognition for her wanted position. Chen Weixuan pointed out his rich work experience and his understanding of the student union, afterwards, the future planning and arrangement for his dreamed department. Kong Chuihao indicated the reasons for his will of devoting himself to dealing with the student affairs as well as his anticipation for future development of the union. Xie Qiaohong emphasized“service”,“management”and“communication”in his expectation of the future work. Zhang Liqin listed the different competitions and work that she had been involved in which demonstrated her outstanding qualities, then she offered her comprehension for the position that she pursued. Every competitor has presented themselves completely, which has showed their high participation, responsibility and sense of services, which could provide the confidence for the development of the school.
After the vote, the congress came to the end. The representative of the Standing Committee of Student Union Zhang Tianran gave the generalization of the draft proposals. She noted the suggestions and advice to dormitory management, construction of canteens and class-choosing updating. Following that, Zhan Tongtong made summary of this conference. Finally, this event ended with the Youth League Anthem sung by all the participants.
This activity definitely showed not only the spirits of democracy, honesty and preciseness, but also reflected students’ attention as well as their care to the development of the school, which could made significant sense for ordered and positive improvement of the college. Except that, the members of the student union will resist on their traditional aims, put the theories into practice, build the bridge of the communication between the students and schools, in the meantime, strengthen their sense of service, which could made the progress of the union enter into a new stage.
