The home visits for 2021 named “Remember Your Original Idea at the Start and Carry It till the Far ”, which was held by the Student Affair Department of the Party Committee of the CCNU, ended on July 23. This team was leaded by department minister Han Junhua and contained 13 persons in total, including deputy minister Wu Jiancheng, deputy secretary of the party committee as well as the instructors from varied schools. This travail lasted for 11 days and was supposed to be longer than 10000 kilometers. During this activity, the participants visited more than 50 families in Xingjian, scattered in different cities and regions such as Wulumuqi, Tulufan, Yining and Kashi.

The aim of this work was defining the ideological standpoint, simultaneously, reinforcing the idea of national unity. The preparation of this activity spent more than 1 month and the selection of targets was mainly on basis of their returning time, their participation in the classes, in the meantime, the real condition of their families. Through the process of the face-to-face communication with their parents, their backgrounds, mental states, present difficulties and needs could be exposed in a more direct way, which has assisted in the understanding between the parents and schools, at the same time, enhancing the confidence and links in this relationship, in order to provide more opportunities for the further cooperation.

At the home of Rezeye, who is from School of Life Science, her mother almost burst into tear when she met the instructors. “Thanks for the educational policy of our nation, which offered such a good chance to our kid and thanks for your visit for thousands of miles.”her father said, in a choked voice, just as what usually could be heard in this journey. While these visits, the members described the students’ states of living and studying in detail, explained the latest personal training program and the relevant employment policy, meanwhile, introduced the given projects for the ethnic minority of our school. At the end of each visit, they would answer the questions that parents concerned about, also give them little gifts they had prepared.

One of the participant, instructor Wang Qianqian, told us: “We got a chance to get in touch with the ethnic minority families through this activity, what most impressed me was not only their enthusiasm and honesty, but also the difficulties they had to overcome. As an instructor, I will take my responsibility of the guidance, the care and the cultivation of my students, to encourage them to devote themselves into the educational business in the western regions and the construction of our nation.”
Kawushaer, a freshman from School of Foreign Language, said: “My parents learned more about my college in this visit and they are fairly delighted for my choice. I feel the real warmness from my school, and for their anticipation, I will work hard at school in the future.”

As far as we know, the home visit activity can be dated back to the project “Teachers Visit Your Home”in 2007, for the understanding, cooperation and harmony between the university and families. This activity has been held for twice till now, and has obtained rather good feedback. It has strengthen the ties of school and families, furthermore, provided ideological guidance as well as the emotional comfort, which would help in improving the communication between diverse nationalities, reinforcing the idea of unity and offering the precondition of good ideological and political education.
