On the morning of August 10, Secretary Zhao Lingyun came to our college to investigate and supervise the epidemic prevention and control and laboratory safety work, visited and expressed condolences to the teachers and students who still stick to the front line of scientific research during the summer vacation, and sent them heatstroke and epidemic prevention materials and cordial condolences. Vice president Ren Youzhou, vice president Li Hongfei and heads of relevant functional departments such as school office, publicity department, logistics department, infrastructure department and security department accompanied the investigation and condolences.
Braving the heat, Secretary Zhao Lingyun and his party came to Building 5 of the college. As soon as he got off the car, Secretary Zhao delivered heatstroke and epidemic prevention materials such as mineral water, watermelon and masks to the teachers and students staying in the college in summer, and "worked on site", asked whether the problem of rainstorm ponding in Building 5 of the college had been solved, and personally went down to the experimental animal room, an area with serious ponding in the basement for on-site inspection, and communicated with the present teachers and students on the key points and difficult problems in the laboratory safety work from time to time.
When he learned that the problem of rainstorm ponding in Building 5 had been completely solved, Secretary Zhao highly affirmed the work style and efficiency of the capital construction department and the logistics service department in doing practical things for the college's teachers and students, and pointed out that they should further enhance the sense of urgency, responsibility and mission, deeply understand the extreme importance of laboratory safety work, and resolutely complete it as a major political task. The main responsibility of the college and the guarantee responsibility of relevant functional departments should be paid close attention to. We should fully understand the complexity and arduousness of the work, effectively solve the weak links and prominent contradictions in laboratory safety, and grasp the initiative to prevent, resolve and curb laboratory safety risks.
Subsequently, Secretary Zhao had a cordial conversation with the representatives of the students staying in school, asked them about their living conditions in detail, affirmed everyone's attitude of studying hard and the spirit of hard work during their stay in school, and told them to do a good job in epidemic prevention and protect their own safety.
Then, Secretary Zhao Lingyun came to the laboratory to express his cordial condolences to the young talents of our college, such as Wan Cuihong, Luo Jinhong, Zhu manlu and Dai Xiongfeng, asked the teachers about their recent scientific research progress and their work and life during the epidemic, and highly praised their remarkable achievements in the field of scientific research, he hoped teachers would conscientiously learn and understand the spirit of general secretary Xi Jinping's speech at the conference of academicians and scholars and the China National Association for science and technology in May this year, continue to carry forward and practice the spirit of scientists, indifferent fame and wealth, devote themselves to research, pursue truth and rigorous scholarship, strive for heights and dare to be first, and tackle key issues and work together to create a world-class university for teacher education, and make new contributions to the construction of an educational power and a scientific and technological power!
When leaving, Secretary Zhao Lingyun said goodbye to the teachers and students one by one, and pointed out that he was deeply impressed by the strength of the teachers and students of the School of Life Sciences to stick to the front line and work hard. He hoped that the teachers and students would further enhance their awareness of protection in the critical period of epidemic prevention and control, and also hoped that the School of Life Sciences would carry forward the spirit of hard struggle and always striving for first-class, further consolidate and inherit.
