The Voice of CCNU From July 23 to 27, the special training course on quality and ability improvement of the ideological and political work team of Henan University in 2023 which was sponsored by the Training and Research Center of the Ideological and Political Work Team of the Ministry of the CCNU, was held as a Ministry of Political Education. A total of 89 political cadres from Henan University participated in the training. The training course included seven special reports, three on-site teaching sessions and one group discussion. Chen Diming, the deputy secretary of the Party committee of CCNU, Feng Shuxia, the assistant principle of CCNU and the deputy secretary of the Party committee of Henan University, attended the training activities and delivered speeches.

Deputy secretary Chen Diming attended the opening ceremony of the training course. In his speech, he reviewed the origin of CCNU and Henan University from a historical perspective, summarized the exchanges and cooperation between the two universities in recent years and the fruitful achievement fulfilled, and raised hopes for all the learners from three aspects: strengthening ideological guidance, absorbing in improving ability and focusing on exchanges and discussions.

The center had prepared abundant thematic lectures for this training, which includes not only theoretical education, but also many aspects of counselors’ professional abilities, such as “Chinese-type Modernization: Redefinition and Mode Transcendence of Modernization”, “Mission and Responsibility of College Counselors in the New Era”, “Mutual Promotion of Scientific Research Work and Student Work of College Counselors”, “Ideological Education in College and Response to Network Public Opinion”, “College Students’ Crisis Management and Response in the New Era”, “Identification and Intervention of Psychological Crisis”, “Research on Frontier Issues of Ideological and Political Work in Colleges in the New Era” and so on.

In addition to the special report, the training also included two on-site teaching sessions, namely, the visits to the “one-stop” Student Community of CCNU and the Mental Health Center of Wuhan University, as well as “immersion learning” in red education bases such as the Wuchang Uprising Memorial Hall of the 1911 Revolution and the Wuhan Revolutionary Museum.
On the morning of July 27, all the learners took the group as a unit to conduct intensive exchanges and discussions around the theme of “ professional growth of counselors”.

Feng Shuxia, the deputy secretary of the Party committee of Henan University, made a concluding speech at the closing ceremony of the training course. She believed that the training had distinct themes, rich contents, diverse forms, compact arrangements and practical results. And it helped the learners to improve their theoretical levels, professional abilities and professional accomplishments in an all-round and multi-level way, so as to help them grow in the direction of professionalization and specialization.

At the closing ceremony, six groups reported the experience of the training and learning in the form of micro-video display, micro-class performance, three-sentence and half-performance and other colorful forms. The trainees said that the training activities gave them a new understanding of the work of counselors and a new understanding of the professional development of counselors. They had more courage to deal with the student work under the new circumstances, and expressed their heartfelt thanks to Henan University, the organizer, and Central China Normal University, the contractors.
Finally, Feng Shuxia, the deputy secretary of the Party committee of Henan University, and Li Diao, the director of the ideological and political department of the Party committee of CCNU, issued course-completion certificates to the learner representatives.
